The residents of The Old Vicarage Care Home have certainly been busy over the past couple of weeks with plenty of events and activities on the go to keep them occupied! First up was a few good-natured games of dominoes, giving some of our residents the opportunity to display the skills they have honed over years of playing! This was followed up by the less competitive activity of aqua painting, allowing everyone to get their creative juices well and truly flowing. Our care home in Kettering is home to some very talented artists and there were certainly a few masterpieces on show that day!
Later in the week was the small matter of St. Patrick’s Day – a day for wearing green and celebrating Irish culture, which the residents were very keen to get involved in! It was a fun day and the highlight was a very topical quiz featuring questions covering all things Ireland that went down a treat.
The following week saw us blessed with some absolutely fantastic weather, so our lovely garden got a lot of use! One day saw the residents celebrate the arrival of spring with an appreciation of nature and a few picked daffodils. Later in the week, with the sun beaming down, it was the perfect day for an impromptu garden party. With plenty of snacks and drinks available, including a few cheeky tipples, everyone enjoyed what was hopefully the first of many warm, sunny days this year!
