It has been a truly heart-warming and joyful week here at The Old Vicarage Care Home, as residents, staff and visitors came together to celebrate the festive season in wonderful style. From music and laughter to special guests and shared moments, the Christmas spirit has been felt throughout our home.
A Special Visit from Our Pet Therapy Dog
One of the highlights of the week was a delightful visit from our much-loved pet therapy dog, Soda, who arrived complete with her own festive Christmas bells. Soda’s visit brought smiles to everyone’s faces, offering comfort, companionship and plenty of cuddles for our residents. Pet therapy plays an important role in supporting wellbeing within our elderly care home, and this visit was no exception.
Festive Music from Barton Seagrave Primary School Choir
We were also honoured to welcome the Barton Seagrave Primary School Choir, whose beautiful Christmas songs filled the home with festive cheer. The sound of young voices singing traditional carols created a magical atmosphere and reminded us how special intergenerational connections can be. For many residents, these moments are deeply meaningful and help make our home one of the most welcoming care homes in Kettering.
A Visit from Santa Himself
Adding to the excitement, the week wouldn’t have been complete without a very special visit from Santa Claus himself. His arrival was met with laughter, joy and plenty of festive cheer, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Entertainment and Celebrations at Our Christmas Party
Our Christmas celebrations continued with a fantastic party, made even more special thanks to the wonderful entertainment provided by Lesley Ann and Katie Rose. Their performances brought energy, music and fun, encouraging residents to sing along and enjoy the festivities together. We were also delighted to welcome the lovely children from Little Peeps Childcare, whose visit added even more warmth and happiness to the day.
Thank You to Our Dedicated Team
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the dedication and kindness of our incredible staff team. Their hard work, creativity and care help make The Old Vicarage a trusted residential nursing home, where residents feel safe, supported and valued every day. From organising events to ensuring everyone could take part, the team went above and beyond to make the week truly special.
