Some hae meat an canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it;
But we hae meat, and we can eat,
And sae the Lord be thankit.
Rabbie Burns
Complemented by neeps (turnip) and tatties (mashed potato), haggis is the main feature of any Burns supper and it is certainly a dish that splits opinion! However, our excellent chef Janice prepared the haggis and its accompaniments to perfection and everybody enjoyed their fantastic Scottish feast. The main course was followed up by a truly delicious cranachan trifle. Another traditional Scottish delicacy, this dessert features raspberries, oats, honey and a hint of whisky – which as you can imagine went down an absolute treat! The Old Vic’s residents are already looking forward to next year’s Burns Night!
