The first day of March this year saw a double celebration as St David’s Day and Shrove Tuesday fell on the same day for the first time since 1960. The Old Vicarage Care Home residents had the opportunity to enjoy some activities that encompassed the best of both occasions.
First up they commemorated St David’s Day by painting some beautiful daffodils. As Saint David is the patron saint of Wales, it was only fitting that the national flower of Wales was the subject for this artistic endeavour. After the completion of many bright yellow masterpieces, next up was a chance to celebrate Shrove Tuesday in everybody’s favourite way - eating pancakes! Our amazing cook worked hard in the kitchen to prepare a massive stack worth of perfect pancakes for the residents to enjoy - which they most certainly did!
