Out with the Ox and in with the Tiger. It’s not quite how the popular saying goes, but it represents the change in Chinese zodiac that the Lunar New Year brought in on the first day of this month. Typically celebrated in China and other eastern Asian countries, the residents of The Old Vicarage decided to commemorate the beginning of the Year of the Tiger with some delicious oriental cuisine.
On the menu was a healthy portion of the popular Chinese restaurant offering sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. Alongside some buttered garlic mushrooms, the residents enjoyed a lovely feast of some truly delectable food. However, even though there were clean plates all round, dessert was up next and nobody was prepared to turn that down! With the choice of Eton mess or chocolate brownie & ice cream, there was something for any taste preference and the residents of our residential nursing home in Kettering celebrated the Lunar New Year with full stomachs and smiles on their faces.
