Arts, Crafts & Musical Entertainment at The Old Vicarage Care Home

The residents at The Old Vicarage Care Home, our residential nursing home in Kettering, have been kept busy recently thanks to the efforts of Event Coordinator Jackie. Ensuring the residents have activities available has been a little more challenging as a result of the pandemic, however the team at The Old Vic have been doing a fantastic job of keeping the residents active.

An arts & crafts afternoon was spent creating some fabulous cardboard ladybirds and butterflies. Now adorning the walls of the main lounge these wonderful creations bring a lot of colour and energy to the area and are a huge hit.

Other artistic ventures taken on by the residents include cute and unique teddy bears created using artificial roses and an autumn-themed display board. Featuring a tree shedding its array of colourful leaves there is also a pumpkin patch alongside a bat flying past a full moon, paying tribute to the most popular autumn tradition of all - Halloween! The display board looks fantastic and has helped get everybody into the seasonal spirit.

Before saying goodbye to the summer however they did get the chance to enjoy a lovely afternoon of entertainment. The fabulous Jenny Simmonds visited to put on a show for the residents. Located in the garden, adhering to current guidelines, with the shining sun providing the perfect backdrop, Jenny entertained everyone by singing some of their favourite songs and providing a fantastic musical spectacle.
